Horse Tee Shirt Tutorial

Hi
Sweet friends!

Today I thought I would share how I made my daughter a horse tee shirt for her "Fancy Country Birthday Party".  She was determined to wear a horse shirt (we had about 10 already, but with this girl you can NOT have too many).  I could not find one in the stores that had the look she wanted for the party.  So what's a Momma to do????????
Get busy making it of course, so that is what I did.
1. I found an outline of a horse that I liked and sized to fit the shirt.
3. Traced the horse onto the backside of the Heat n Bond
4. Cut out horse

5.Took picture of my girlie holding the cut out horse
(you can skip this step)

6. Figured out the placement of the horse

7. Peeled off the paper backing left from ironing on the Heat n Bond
8.  Ironed on the horseonto the shirt

9. Stitched around the horse with my new sewing machine

10. Then we were ready to party!!!!

I love this project because it is super easy and you can make something personal for the people you love,
hope you enjoyed.

I am Linking to these great parties

Sentimental Sunday #17, Birthday #8

Hi, I am bursting with excitement for this weeks Sentimental Sunday, because this week it is all about my girl--my freshly 8 year old girl.  My Baby turned 8 on Monday and we had a party to celebrate.  She called it a Country Living Tea Party, you can tell she is my daughter.  She wanted "fancy" country and everyone needed to dress fancy country to come to her fancy country party.  Lucky for us she was only inviting her two best girlfriends otherwise I do not know if I cold have gotten everyone one to follow the dress code.

Here is the fancy country spread of food

And fancy Summer Punch, served in my collection of vintage Mason Jars.

Here we are dressed in our fancy country outfits.
More about these outfits in a future post.

Here she is my sweet 8 year old.  She is full of passion, sass, spunk and love with a deep desire to nurture and comfort.

Here she is with her two best friends

they played horses like this for over an hour.
They could not even be tempted by cake or presents,
they were happy just being together playing.

I love this picture of my two girls enjoying one another and enjoying this moment.

And this picture, this picture is priceless, my baby and my grandmother.
I love and treasure this moment, I stopped and purposely tried to sear this memory into my brain permanently.

So this is what I am Sentimental about this week.

MIA and a Giveaway

Good Morning!

Sorry I have been missing in action this week.  I have had plans for many post this
week, but then life happened.

Monday was my baby's 8th birthday, eekkkk.
Tuesday I was working from early morning until 9:00 pm.
Wednesday no Internet.
Thursday no Internet.
Friday shopping for my oldest who tried to get dressed over and over this week and had NO clothes that fit her.
So here we are at 6:30 am on Saturday morning catching up, or should I say here I am.  You are probably tucked in your warm bed where all sane people are.

Even with a crazy busy week
I do have a surprise to share with you!!!!
I have been working every spare minute to get these ready and still have more in the works.

Bible Memory Verse Pillows and they are for sale in my Etsy shop, ChaCha'sTreasures.  I am so excited about these pillows, I have had the idea for about a year.  I had only told  very few people about this idea and have been trying to find the time and courage to get them done.  My hope for the pillows is that they will be beautiful decoration for your kids (boy versions coming soon,*now in shop and listing more all week) bedrooms, with a pocket to keep Bible verses in.  As a mom who is trying to instill the value of memorizing Bible verses in her children I know that it is sometimes hard for them to turn to the verses in the Bible each time they sit to work on memorization.
We write the verse on cards, but then where do you keep the cards?????
With the pillows kids have a safe place to store their cards and a visual reminder to work on memorizing the verses.  I hope you love this idea as much as I do ( and my Hubby hopes you buy them, haha).  As you all know I am a sentimental fool and I think these would make great gifts that would become wonderful keepsakes.  So tell me what you think???

I am giving away one pillow ( your pick ) to a lucky reader this week!

Sentimental Sunday #16

Hi,

hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

We have been busy digging out our Summer clothes and packing away all the Winter stuff.

I have a huge stack of stuff to pass along to others, and a list a mile long of the pieces each of the girls need.

So as you can imagine I have been busy and have plenty more to do.

For right now though I am thankful to have a quiet moment to sit and reflect and share with you.

Today I am Sentimental about a purse.

It is not just any purse.....

It was my moms

When she was a little girl.

Then each of my girls held it in there two year old portraits.
I framed it in a shadow box and it hangs in my girls bathroom.

I love the girlie touch it adds to this room.

One day soon I will show this whole room,

for now I hope you enjoy the peek inside.

Sentimental Sunday #15

Hi Lovelies,
So glad to meet you here again on this beautiful Sunday.

Today I am sentimental about an apron that has been around since I was in 5th grade.  If you do the math you will all now know how old I am, eekkkkk.

My mom was Room Mom for my 5th grade class, all you moms who have served in this position know what a BIG and fun job it is.

At the end of the school year as a gift for her service the class gave her an apron with every person's signature on it.

I love looking back at all the names and remembering each of the people in my class that year.

One of these sweet girls helped me celebrate my birthday last week.

We really have been Friend's Forever.

So glad to have this memory.

So to all of you from Mrs. Johnson's 1984
 5th grade class
I hope you are well and enjoy this walk down memory lane.

So what are you sentimental about this week?

E-Mealz, Review Week 1

If you did not know I have been given the opportunity to review E-mealz for 1 month.   You can read about

how I got the chance to Review E-Mealz here.

This past week was my first week to use it.   I printed my menu with recipes and my grocery list.   As I

mentioned last week we are picky eaters so I went through both the menu and shopping list and crossed off

what we would not eat.   This week there was a recipe with salmon and I do not eat seafood so I crossed it

off.   This did not cause a problem because we really only need 5-6 dinners per week (my mom cooks for

my family one night per week, yes I know I am blessed).   Then there were two sides that we are not fond

of but sides are easy to substitute with something else.

Next, I shopped my pantry, fridge and freezer for what I already had.   Then I was off to the store.   I was

happy to find that each of the items were in stock and for the price my grocery list said that it would be.

Once home I went through each of the meals to decide which days each of the recipes would work best for

us.   Because we were out of town this weekend,  I was even able to pick two meals to save for later and

one that I think will be good to make ahead and freeze.

Our first two meals were pretty basic recipes Mexican hamburgers and Buffalo Chicken Sliders.   They were

very yummy and everyone ate them well.  These two meals are also the recipes I changed the sides,  one

would have been baked beans and the other potato salad.   I made a large batch of our favorite pasta salad

and split it between both dinners.   Even with this substitute I was able to stay within the budgeted amount

for those meals.   Our favorite recipe was the Tortellini and Sausage Soup, it was a huge success.   Besides

being tasty it was a quick meal to make and it is easy to keep each of the ingredients on hand.  It will

become one of my go to recipes.  I hope this week is closer to normal so I can try more recipes.

So at the end of week one if you ask me my opinion of Emealz I will tell you it is a great way to make

preparing dinner easier, shopping more simple and staying within a budget a breeze (each me is coming in at

 $10 or under).

And if you are interested you can use the code: BLISS and get 15% off of the price

Spring Tablecloth

Here we are at week two of my kitchen nook update.  Do you remember what it looked like before last week?

You can read about the first step:  My Kitchen Plate Wall here.

For this week I wanted to add a fun tablecloth.  As luck would have it I found the perfect fabric in Walmart last week.  I grabbed it up before anyone else could get their hands on in.  I came home and got busy sewing and this is what I came up with

I hope to have time to write a tutorial about how I made it next week.

I am linking this post at Kellie's Spring Fling,

Hope to see you back here for next weeks update

Lent

As I prepare for Lent I have put much thought and prayer into what I would give up.   Many things have

come to mind Diet Coke (I have recently gone ahead and done this one),  coffee,  sugar,  T.V......  but none

of these seemed right.   I wanted to give up something that would make me cling to God harder as well as

be a sacrifice.   Then it hit me I will give up comments on this blog for forty days.   Don't think your words

are not meaningful to me because they are ----- too much so.   See my love language is words of affirmation

(from the book The Five Love Languages) and I think to often I come to you ladies for those words instead

 of my Heavenly Father.

The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.
      Zephaniah 3:17

For the next forty days I want to concentrate on His affirmation and give up worldly affirmation.   I hope you

will all understand and support this decision.   I do not want to

lose genuine relationships with you so I will be available through email

( jjones523@gmail.com ) and Facebook for questions and conversations.   I still want to continue both of

those just not comments telling me I did a good job etc.....

So as of tomorrow the comment section will be turned off for forty days.   I pray that you each draw closer

to God during this time of preparation.

Thrifting With Friends

I just want to drop in this morning to say Hi and let you know what I have been up to.

My parents offered to watch the girls for the weekend so Hubby and I could celebrate my Birthday (it is not until the 10th).  Early Saturday morning Hubby and I got up, packed a bag and drove to Nashville.  We were there so I could meet up with these lovely ladies.

Michele from The Scrap Shoppe Blog, Jess from Frugal with a Flourish, Gina from The Shabby Chic Cottage, and you know me.  Amy from Positively Splendid met up with us also,
but she had to leave early.  We had a wonderful breakfast and talked for about two hours about blogging stuff.  If you have a blog and no real life friends who do-----
then you know how nice this is.
After Breakfast we went to Goodwill, they were having a half price day (the Goodwill's near me do not do this, sad).  I bought two things that I will share later.  After this stop it was just Gina and I left (and our wonderful husbands), we went to two Habitat for Humanity Restore, I had never been to one.........
BUT NOW I AM HOOKED.

Here is a sneak peek at what I found and I am working on this week.

My poor Hubby did lots of door holding that day.

After we finished shopping, the four of us had a late lunch and it was so much fun to sit around and talk with them and get to know them better, I will tell you Gina is nicer than you could ever imagine and I am lucky to now call her a friend.

We drove back to Georgia and made a stop in Ellijay for the night.  My dad (my mom was sick) brought the girls up to meet us on Sunday, to go swimming at an indoor pool.

It was lots of fun swimming and my dad and I had a chance to sit and talk business together, he is who I get my entrepreneur spirit from.  Then to finish the weekend out we had Mexican food for dinner, my favorite.

Hope you had a great weekend too.  I will be back tomorrow with a new post.
