Chatting with Charity ~ 9

 Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin

Last week I had the great pleasure of taking one of my favorite girls dinner. When I was a youth leader she was one of my students and our regular babysitter and quickly became part of our family! ...
Well...she decided to grow up a few years ago and get married and you know how the story goes,
first comes love,
then comes married,
then comes Jamie pushing a baby carriage!
Last week she had the cutest, most squishy baby boy. I knew I needed some extra baby time so I quickly signed up to bring them dinner. I made one of my favorite "company worthy but weeknight easy" recipes, Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin
Here is what you will need to make it too:
1 pork tenderloin
salt and pepper
4-5 strips of bacon
Preheat oven to 425* , sprinkle tenderloin with salt and pepper, wrap bacon around-covering completely, place on a lightly greased rack in a roasting pan. Bake for 30 min - or until internal temperature is 160, broil until bacon is crispy, let rest for 10 minutes, serve and enjoy

The Perfect Gift

Good Morning! ...
I was recently working on entering some important dates into my calendar and realized how many weddings we have coming up this spring and summer. I don't know about you but I always struggle to think of the PERFECT gift. I want it to be practical but also meaningful. That is when it hit me that I know the PERFECT gift, the book
Her Husband Is Know In The Gates
by my dear friend Bernadine Cantrell. For the last couple of years I have read and reread this book, bought many copies, given it to many people, and recommended it to countless others. It is the best book I have ever read on marriage and being a Godly wife. If you are looking for the perfect wedding gift to give, I suggest this book. It is available on Amazon and will be at your door in just a few days. Or order it for yourself, you will be BLESSED!
Have you read
Her Husband Is Know In The Gates?
If so, I would love for you to share!

Love Thy Neighbor

“What commandment is the foremost of all?” Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD; AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.’ The second is this, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ There is no other commandment greater than these. Mark 12:28-31
...
For years I struggled with the age old church question of “what is my calling?” If you have spent any time at all on a church pew or listening to Christian radio you have heard multiple people tell you to follow your calling. I was always left with questions like… How was I supposed to know my calling and what if I missed mine? Then one day while reading in Mark I was reminded of just how simple my “calling” is, I am to love the Lord with all of my heart, soul, mind and strength and I am to love my neighbor as myself. After reading this suddenly the only question I had was…Who is my neighbor? Well, that was easy; my neighbor is everyone God brings into my life! Today my neighbors are my husband and children and possibly the checkout lady at the grocery store, tomorrow they will be the clients who come to me to have their hair done. Since this realization I have tried to be very intentional about showing my neighbors love. I have done simple physical acts that have encouraged fellow believers and opened doors for me to share Christ with those who don’t know Him. I plan to share here once a month a simple way that I intentionally loving my neighbor in hopes that it will inspire you to do something intentional to love yours. If you do, I would love for you to share what you did in the comments below, feel free to add a picture too!
Today, I am loving on my daughter by writing her a quick note of encouragement. I started a notebook years ago with each of my girls and we write letters back an forth between each other. It is a great way for me to encourage them. My older daughter told me not to long ago that she loves the notebook because when she is having a bad day she can go back and read the letters I have written to her. Grab a notebook and write someone you love a letter of encouragement today.
