Inspiration For My Family Room and Dining Room, the over all look

I have been pinning rooms on Pinterest for a few weeks now.  Today I want to show you some of the rooms that have inspired me.  Most of these rooms are just have an over all look and feel I like and not the exact look I am going for.  I love a collected over time look verses the latest trend.  I think this look appeals to my sentimental side because it allows most things in the room to have meaning and not just be a purchase.  Now don't get me wrong I love looking at a perfectly styled room but it will not work for us, I have hand me downs from too many era's that have to stay.

Source: theselby.com via Cha on Pinterest

Each of these first rooms make my heart sing, if I could move into any one of them I would.  But I have to be real and know that my family is far too hard on furniture to pick some of these pieces and we need to be able pile up and cuddle on ours.  Also did you notice the broad range of colors these rooms have?  I love color and need to be able to include it.

This room by the fabulously talented Tori Spelling (who would have guessed she had skills like this when she was on 90210) has more family friendly style and I love all the color but......the white will NOT work for us.
I will admit it, WE ARE MESSY.

The large Asian pictures behind this sofa reminds me of mine, I like that it is the only Asian thing in the room.

Then I found this design board from Fieldstone Design and it is so close to what I am going for I almost could not believe it.  When I found it we had already purchased our tan sectional sofa and had the same fabric that is on the cube for drapes and pillows.

Even the layout for the room is similar to mine

I hope you enjoyed this sneak peak at the feel I am going for in my family room and dinning room.  And if you would like an invite to Pinterest so you can start your own pins just send me an email ( sitrelaxandread@gmail.com ) and I will invite you.
Hope you are marking things off of you Ten Task in Ten Days list, if you haven't linked up you list you have until Thursday to get it linked.
Remember if you link up you have a chance to win a one year subscription to Country Living Magazine.

Sentimental Sunday #28, The Broadman Hymnal

Hi Lovelies!
Here we are again at Sentimental Sunday, where we all meet up to share what we are sentimental about this week.
I hope you have had a great week and stopped to smell the roses.  I am going to share a beautiful hymnal
that was a gift from my grandmother ( my father's mother).  This hymnal was very special to her because it is from the church she went to as a child.  I am honored to have it and it always stays on our piano.  There are days when I sit and read the lyrics of my favorites, these are the days I wish I could still play but that was a long time and many sleepless nights ago.

This edition was printed in 1940 and contains 503 of the greatest songs ever written.  My favorite by far is #190
 Come, Thou Fount

The last line pictured gets me every time...
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter, Bind my wandering heart to thee:

Because my heart is prone to wander and if it were not for the goodness of my Savior I would have no hope.

So what are you sentimental about this week?

Ten Task in Ten Days Challenge, The List

All right lovelies
are you ready to get our 10 Task in 10 Days started?
I hope you have enjoyed making your list as much as I have.  I suddenly have new found energy for getting things done and I really believe it is because I have a list and the idea of getting to check things off excites me.  I am showing some before shots with my list today and for those of you who are new around here and confused by the sofa and chair swap you can ready about it in Family Room Makeover Part 1 and Family Room Makeover Part 2

I decided to make everything on my list come from the two rooms I am currently wanting to work on because being the ADHD person I am I tend to hop from one room to the next and never feel like I get anything done.  Hopefully this is going to inspire me and I will have a new way of doing things.  The two room that I have picked are actually one large room which make it a natural decision to do them at the same time, but it makes my list long......29 items so far.  But just think if I can mark of 10 of them I will be a 1/3 of the way done, woohoo!  I will stop rambling now and show you what you came here for --

THE LIST

Weight Loss Wednesday, #1

Today I am finally going to participate in my friend Alicia's

I say finally because I have wanted to take part all along but had yet to lose and weight.  Don't feel sorry for me because i did not deserve to lose any.  Food is this "good girls" rebellion.  God has been dealing with my heart about this for longer than I care to reveal.  Today I am putting this out there and my hope is to use each Wednesday as a source of accountability for my weight but more importantly for my heart.

I will meet back here each Wednesday (yes, I know it is Thursday I am a day late and a dollar short as usual, ha )and report my highs and lows.  My question for you is do you have anything you need accountability for?  If so feel free to share and we can check in and encourage one another.  You can leave a comment or email me at sitrelaxandread@gmail.com .

To be accountable I need to tell you where I am at and where I would like to be.  Let's start with weight, I am 1_6 today.  I left the middle number blank because it pains me to write it, it is more than ever and almost as much as pregnant, eek.  I would like that number to be 26 pounds lighter because I have a closet full of beautiful clothes just waiting to be worn again.  I can only wear about 1/4 of the clothes in my closet right now.  Depressing--right?  I need to lose 2 clothing sizes so that all those clothes will fit comfortably.  Finally exercise....this is actually where I have had some success, not weight lose - yet.  My success today is measured by the fact that this sweat hating girl has gotten up most days during the past 3 weeks and walked my neighborhood.  It has been great to get out and push myself, this morning my backside is sore from the lunges I did while walking.  I hope to build onto this routine and start watching the amount of food I put into my mouth this next week.  Will you meet me back here?

Pinterest, my new BFF

Yes
It is true I have found a new BFF.

It really is as good as everyone says!

It took me a while to get the hang of it and it is still slower than I would like it to be (immediate gratification is not fast enough for me) but oh my goodness is it fun.

Here is glimpse of the things I have pinned.

Sentimental Sunday #27,Happy Father's Day

As you can imagine today I am sentimental about Father's Day.

This is for my Hubby.

You give so selflessly to our family,

You teach us the meaning of love with your willingness to give,

You make us laugh with your constant humor,

You work hard to provide,

You go to great lengths to protect,

I am proud to be by your side.

Thank You for being an amazing father to our girls, we are blessed.
