COCK-A-DOODLE-DO

Do you like my roosters?  Before the kitchen remodel, I had a rooster collection.  It was a country kitchen and I loved it, but that is not what I was going for after ther remodel.  I want a more modern, clean line look.  I was torn though because I loved a few of my roosters and could not bring myself to part with them.

I knew that I could bring back the large black iron one, but you see the white one he didn't look like that, he looked like this....

Not so cute for a modern "country" kitchen, but he was a wedding gift and I had to believe that he was worth a little effort.  So he took a trip outside and had a date with some spray paint and turn out pretty handsome if I do say so myself

Now I think these two guys are perfect together in my modern country kitchen.

Have a great weekend

I love it! As a turkey farmer's wife, I'm always on the look out for white, turkeys, too, but I never thought of painting colored ones! What a good idea!

I think he looks great all white! The two of them look good together. Good idea to paint this guy so you could still display him.

Have a great weekend!

you are such the smarty "hen" to do this.
did you see that layla at TLC painted pitchers to put on her mantel from the same link as you were on from "ahem" HGTV.??. i thought that was so smart & now here you go doing this great idea of painting the hen house!
i am going to copy you once again.

I was going to say what Blessed Nest said....it reminded me of what Layla did. I thought she was so clever and now you have taken it to the next level. It's perfect. I tossed out all of my roosters when I re-did my kitchen. I wish I'd known you then! :) Lisa~

I am always on the lookout for rooster items and I never thought about repainting them. I have seen some and I thought the colors were awful and now I know I can just give them a new look! Thanks for sharing this!

Cute - I love it in white. I used to have a bunch of roosters but donated them all. Should have kept them!

I have two great chickens I have thought about painting. Did you prime or use any top coat? I would love to know.

Oh I love it! I'm a rooster gal here and yours are darling. I'm gonna look around my kitchen to see which ones will be lucky enough to get a coat of paint. :)

Love what you did to your Rooster.
He looks so chic. I have a white Rooster I bought at Target some years back, and I just love him.
He has finally moved to the kitchen this year, he has been in 3 other rooms but this is his first visit to the kitchen and I really like it,
I may put them on white Wed. next week.
He looks great up there with the big black one too. Nice job, good thinking!!
Blessings to you,
Nellie

Oh my gosh...I had this rooster until my husband tossed his brief case on the counter and knock it to the floor! What a great idea. Love it! Stop by and see my lamp re-do if you get a chance.

My favorite type of craft - spray paint!

Somehow I became a huge rooster collector when I moved into our present home. Once Grandson started saying cockadoodledoo, I really went on a buying frenzy!

Think I'll spray paint some this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration!
