You lovelies know how much I love my kitchen right? Just in case you didn't let me just tell you, I am pretty sure it is my favorite room in the whole house and the first room in the house that feels really like me. It is a little traditional, a little country, a little modern, and a little retro vintage. Who knew all of that could live together in harmony? I think all of those things describe me as well as my style, if you know me in real life feel free to comment if you think that is a good description of me and my kitchen. As much as I love my kitchen I have a few more projects to do before it is complete. One of those projects was this sad little corner, it had no excitement or interest happening and just looked a little unloved.
(Isn't the vintage stool the cutest, Hubby gave to me a few years ago)
Well, all of that changed after a visit to this weeks Friend, Emily's blog. Emily had the cutest sign hanging over her kitchen table and as soon as I saw it, I knew I would be doing it for my sad little corner. If you missed her version check out my interview with her here.
So for my birthday the girls got me these cute MDF letters from Micheal's
I got busy painting them, I used the same color as my cabinets and then trimed the edge in red. The red trim idea was from my wonderful husband. I was originally going to paint the whole letters red, but it was a little too much, but then the cream seemed a little boring, so in came hubby with his great idea to save the day.
I love the outcome and my little kitchen corner is sad no more.

So cute! Such an easy project to make that really gives character to the room.
Those are great...good call hubby on the red sides...totally helps them to pop off the wall!
They look great, the red sides really makes them!
Oh I love that! Given my six month old's eating habits I'm thinking EAT and SPIT would be good for our kitchen!
Ok so I know Cha Cha and her kitchen. The way she described her kitchen is also who she is: little traditional, a little country, a little modern, and a little retro vintage, but it all works together. I love this girl!!!!
Thanks, Mrs. Tippens. I love you too.

Cha cha, this rocks! The red sides are my favorite part :)
Very cute for that little nook. You can always add ~ "drink and be merry"!
I love the big letters (and the chair!) It perked that corner right up!

This is a great addition to your corner. I have a spot in my kitchen that I want to do this, but I need to find smaller letters.
They look great and I love the red edges. It give great dimension!
Cute!!! I want to do this in my kitchen. But then, I don't need to encourage anyone in my family to "eat". I should spell out "diet" instead. lol.
Luv the "EAT"...maybe I should do this in my new kitchen:)
Blessings,
Linda

I had my own chair just like that one growing up in my Nana's basement kitchen. She placed it right next to the return on the stove so I would always be warm. I loved that kitchen (and chair) with all my heart - still do. Thanks yo for the memory.
They look wonderful and I bet they didn't break the bank! The red trim is genius, and gorgeous paint on the walls.
hugs,
Debra

I love how you talk about your kitchen. It really inspires me and gives me hope that someday I can feel like that too. A little bit of all the things I love all rolled together in one super important room. I can make that happen too! Thanks so much for sharing your sweet kitchen corner!
Aw, how crafty! Love how you filled up that little corner :)
Hi Cha Cha! That turned out great! I love the hint of red on the sides of the letters.
I love your stool! My grandma had one when I was growing up. When we'd come over for dinner we kids used to argue over who got to sit on it. We'd usually flip the seat up and sit on that step part. Your post brought back some great memories!
Thanks for linking up to Make it Yours day!
